It’s been a while since I’ve done a #fitcheck, but it seems that I’m quite deeply entrenched in my natural-world-aesthetic era, and so this vintage Talbot cardigan was a Christmas gift to myself 🍄
When I fall in love with something online that is either a) expensive, or b) not easy to return (or sometimes both), I do a good ol’ Google search on the product.
I paste the picture of the item into the search bar and I scan the world wide web to find other retailers, product pics, or pictures from other people who’ve purchased it.
a.k.a. I do my research.

I bought this cute tote bag for my and my family’s vacation down to the coast last September. It’s super cute, a great size, and it zips on the top, so it was perfect to bring along on most of our adventures!

Sometimes it successfully pops my bubble and shows me that the item is definitely not as cute in real life as the retailers’ photos depict, other times it confirms that I simply cannot live without whatever precious rare random item I’ve come across.
That’s how I bought the dress in this post, which is also the dress that I wore on Christmas this year! I still love it, so the research has been proven to pay off!

I was recently doing my daily scroll on Pinterest and came across an adorable gold beetle necklace, but after I saw the price I decided to just do some research of my own and found that I could buy the beetle pendants on Etsy! So not only did I make my own necklace, I also made some matching earrings. I added this butterfly pendant to my collection too. It’s fairly large (in terms of what I usually wear), but the details are very dainty and realistic
So when I stumbled upon this fungi little piece from GreatNorthernVTG on Etsy, I instantly took it to Google.
I’d hate to return anything to a small business, so I always need to make sure that I’m going to love what I get. Once I googled it and found some other fashionable girlies* posting adorable outfit inspo with this cardigan as the focal point, it confirmed my inner knowing.
I had to have it.

not to mention the fact that I wasn’t able to find this cardigan available for purchase anywhere else online 👀
It arrived on Christmas Eve (which, as I wrote about in my last post, was my family’s Christmas Day), so I had one more gift to open!
The sleeves were almost too short when I first got it, but I blocked the sleeves after I washed it, and now it fits perfectly.
Gotta love knitwear!

this water bottle was a Christmas gift from Dad — an item that’s been on my wishlist for a hot minute! 32oz, stainless steel, and insulated!

my gramma got me this choker from effervescentbyjess for Christmas. It’s another item that’s been on my wishlist for a while now, and it’s even prettier — and more dainty — than I expected it to be!

The cardigan is 55% linen/45% cotton yarn, and is complete with natural wood buttons.
I love it, but Mom and Riley Mae are already calling dibs on it just in case I decide to rotate my closet in a few years.

and this neutrally-colored, nature-themed outfit is completed perfectly with a pair of Bangs Shoes (it would’ve been even more perfect if I had a pair of their mushroom platform high tops)
