latest update

To say that my creativity has been flowing lately would be an understatement — I’ve been having so much fun making things for my own enjoyment (Christmas quilts for me and my family!), and for my shop.

I’ve started to add a few new items to my shop (with more to come), some of which are quilted throw pillows (using my new favorite FPP sewing technique!).

every color on the butterflies — including all the small black lines — is an individual piece of fabric that is sewn together to create them!

I originally bought these butterfly patterns from ClaudiasHandwerkelei to make a quilt for myself (I have 10/12 squares sewn!), but they were so cute that I could just imagine them making the best throw pillows.

the butterflies I have so far for my quilt! I have all 12 of Taylor’s and Mom’s quilt squares done, and it’s going to be so hard to keep them a secret until Christmas

Pair them with some vintage floral bedsheet fabric, and you have the perfect little aesthetic going on 🦋

The pillow covers have zippers sewn into the bottom of them, so you can remove them if they need to be cleaned.

There are so many amazing FPP patterns available on Etsy, and I can picture so many of them as adorable throw pillows, so I think there will probably be more of these in the future…with seashells or flowers or mushrooms, or something else cute and fun on them.

I’m also about ready to list a new cardigan in my shop (my second long, fringed cardigan), and a couple more are currently in the works (Christmas cardigans!!).

I used up the last of this vintage cotton fringe on this cardigan and I’m so sad that it’s gone!

This one, like the previous long cardigan that I listed, is made out of a vintage bedspread.

It’s a soft pink with a white chenille-style daisy design on the back of it. Cute and comfortable! While the first one I made is much more heavy weighted, this one is super airy, made with a gauzy, muslin-like fabric.

And I’ve added a couple other random things to my shop as well, like these hand-painted owl ornaments, and some cute mushroom ornaments. Perfect for Christmas, or just everyday décor!

Nothing I’ve ever made has sold better than my custom work; before it was pet portraits, it was my Tumblr-famous TFiOS shoes…which, despite it being a decade ago at this point, you can still find pictures of floating around on Google and Pinterest.

But regardless of how quickly things sell, I’m excited to have some new items available in my shop. It’s fun to sell something finished every once in a while; something that I can just wrap up and ship out without any more work required 🍄

the green leaves around each mushroom are painted over with metallic green paint, so these have a bonus shimmer to them too

But while I wait for my new work to be found by customers (and by the algorithm), my pet portraits are still selling and being loved! Usually the majority of my Etsy pet portrait customers are loyal repeat customers, which is amazing in its own right, but lately I’ve been having whole lineups of new, first-time customers, which is amazing too.

My shop and my work is reaching new (and more) people, and I’m loving it!
