We’ve had multiple birthdays, day-trips, and holidays since I made my resolution to start taking more candid photos (you can read my post about that here), and so far, I’ve been successful in capturing the year.
Now while Riley Mae is lugging around a 5-pound birding camera, I go on hikes equipped with a straw hat, fanny pack, and my trusty old point-and-shoot camera from 2014.
Honestly, I’d say I’m aging pretty well.

this year mother’s day was spent down in charlestown…
because if you can’t find us at home, chances are: we’re in Charlestown, Rhode Island.
The cold windy afternoon at the ocean might not have been exactly what we were craving (we had high hopes for higher temps, but as it was, I think we were the only sane ones: wrapped in blankets while the other beach goers walked by in shorts. Pure insanity.), but the morning hike at Trustom Pond was perfection.

have i already said that trustom might be our favorite place on earth?
We’re always chasing something there, and if it’s not glossy ibises, then it’s yellow warblers or hot nature-loving dudes (we have yet to catch the latter, but I can assure you that we’re getting closer…there have been sightings).

The box of photos (organized by date) in my closet is growing for my 2023 photo albums, and I’m so excited to put them all together at the end of the year for myself and the fam!
Seven more months of 2023, where anything could happen ✌🏼
